Online Safety Wrap Up

I think the most important aspect of protecting yourself online would be not to give out any important information that will reveal anything about your identity. If you do reveal something about your identity, the person could find out other information about you and find you and take you. Some information you should not reveal about yourself is your full name, location, date of birth, and what school you go to or where you work at. You can also learn that if you give out too much information, the person could steal your identity. When they have your identity, they could hack into all of your email accounts and bank accounts.

Overcoming Adversity

Helen Keller: Helen became blind and deaf at the age of 18 months. To overcome this tragedy, she had to use the technology called Braille. She used Braille to read signs and to understand what other things were and what they were meant for. Some of the adversities she had to overcome were not being able to hear or see everyday things.

Bethany Hamilton: She was attacked by a shark when she was surfing at 13 years old. When she was attacked, she lost her arm and lost 60% of her blood. She had to have many surgeries and had to attach a mechanical arm to her to help her do the things she does every day and help her overcome adversity.
Melissa Stockwell: Melissa lost her leg when a roadside bomb exploded during a convoy. After the accident she was rushed to the hospital to get her knee amputated and to get a prosthetic leg. The prosthetic leg helped her do the sport she loved which was running.

Evaluating Websites

When I had to evaluate the website Google Gulp, I found out that the information given did not meet the requirement to tell if the website was true or not. The website did not have the contact information which is an important key. The other website I had to research was Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie. The website met all the requirements on the checklist, so the information was true. Out of all the other three websites the best one to use was http://www.mankato-mn.gov/ because it met all the requirements and the other websites did not.
